Project Manager with Airports or Government Security experience - Portugal


The ideal Candidate will have a solid base of IT knowledge and experience; ideally Prince2 qualified and competent in MS Project. Relevant experience of working in Airports, Government security project or similar environments is a big advantage. The role will include a mixture of office based, field based and visiting customer sites so will suit someone who wants a varied role.

Experience of working in an international environment and working with or for large System Integrators will be advantageous.


The Role

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated Project Manager to join a rapidly expanding, dynamic company. Working in Airport and Government Security projects in the Biometric systems industry, covering software development, product engineering and deployments, you will have the opportunity to work with high profile and leading edge technology and with some of the world’s most prestigious organisations.   • Commercial, Financial and Risk Management – must have a sound understanding of financials and able to manage a P&L

  • Customer and 3rd party Management, working occasionally independently in a customer environment. Co-ordinating internal teams, sub-contractors and managing multiple customers whilst ensuring the commercial interests of the business are represented;

  • Management of internal resources – ranging from s/w development team, product design/ engineering, Quality Assurance and local installation resources;

  • Create clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the constraints of the project management triangle; cost, time and quality.


Skills/Education needed

  • Minimum 3+ years of Project Management Experience;

  • Capable of managing multiple workstreams, through excellent prioritisation skills and keeping calm under pressure.

  • PMI/PMP/Prince2 qualification desirable.

  • A technical background would be useful (as an Engineer or SW developer).

  • Experience of Government Projects, Airport/Airline, Security or Biometrics an advantage.

  • Experience of projects in East Asia or Middle East an advantage.

  • Must have a sound understanding of financials and able to manage risk logs and produce similar project documentation.

  • Competent in MS project and all other MS office core applications. Able to produce and review documentation to a high standard.

  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Speak and writes fluent English.

  • French speaking or other languages an advantage.
