AIR TRANSPORT: For projects under her/his responsibility, the Technical Project manager will be responsible for: Gathering and refining of business or technical requirements; identification and evaluation of possible technical options; creation and documentation of recommendations; involvement of internal and external stakeholders; project planning; project status reporting; documentation and handover; support during testing and acceptance phase. Other key responsibilities will include:

Development and benchmarking of prototypes
Building and maintaining test lab environment
Follow-up on issues, performance optimization, coordination with 3rd party suppliers and OEM partners, prioritization and integration of corrections in solutions’ release cycle
Release management (scope/content/planning)
Develop technical knowledge on all solutions supporting OnAir services to provide level 3 support
Pro-active monitoring of a subfleet of aircraft
Ensure deep knowledge of the technologies impacting OnAir’s services (operating Systems, browsers, smartphones, cellular and Wi-Fi telecommunication standards).
Education and training:
University degree level education or equivalent in Engineering
Project management training
Ideally 2 years or more in a telecom engineering position
Ideally 2 years in technical project management
Proven experience in multi-country organisations
Engineering degree.
Successful applicants will have experience (3 or more years) of working within a mature engineering and/or development organisation.
Applicants will also have experience managing external resources in complex development projects.
Technical expertise in open source products and networking technologies is a must, as is extensive incident handling experience.
Experience in implementing and integrating infrastructure within heterogeneous (open source and off-the shelf solution) environment is required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent knowledge of Linux
Excellent knowledge of IP networks
Extensive scripting knowledge
Knowledge on mobile network core and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to build relationships with peer and management levels both internally and with suppliers.
Capability of coordinating, organizing and influencing virtual teams within an international environment
Ability to prioritize work, work under pressure and deal with multiple tasks
Ability to demonstrate agility, flexibility and innovation in an environment where priorities and tasks can change rapidly
DIY attitude, ability to write own tools to deliver analysis and test cases.
Demonstrates analytical flexibility and versatility.
Strong understanding of system integration and hardware issues.
Good communications skills
Demonstrates a practical awareness of other architectures
Experience in embedded architecture a plus.
Experience:
At least 5 years experience in deployment or support of application software, implementing systems and modules with experience of multiple full lifecycle implementations.
Education & Qualifications:
University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
Where applicable a recognised professional qualification is desirable.
Duration: 12 months + or full time.
