Product Specialist, Airline Revenue Accounting & Pricing experience – East Coast USA (IAD)
AIRLINE: As a member of the Product Marketing and Development team, the Product Specialist is responsible for the development and on-going support of products and customers. Key responsibility to recognize new business opportunities and possible cost reductions and/or process improvements for current products. Recognized in the industry as a subject matter expert in one or more product lines. Primary responsibility for customer support, product marketing, and the development of business solutions within their assigned products and areas of responsibility. Understanding of how assigned products are impacted and/or interact with one or more quadrants of the lifecycle of the fare.
Provides comprehensive customer support including research, problem resolution, evaluation of business proposals, solutions and presentations relating to their products and areas of responsibility.
Responsible for planning, communicating, chairing and facilitating airline industry Working Groups.
Serves as industry point of contact, providing expertise to technical and business audiences.
Responsible for highly complex business processes used across the airline industry. Actively participates in and responsible for, the collection of business requirements from the airline industry customers and users.
Leads in the translation of user requirements into the business requirements, functional specifications, data application and other artifacts produced by PMD teams. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of business solution artifacts. Leads and supports Business Team responsible for product development to ensure business requirements are clearly communicated.
Creates and reviews documentation which may include reference manuals, data application, user guides and record layouts. Actively participates in departmental reviews of artifacts and provides complete, timely feedback.
Utilizes reuse, consistency and best practices in the development of new business solutions and products.
Develops Business Cases, Business Plans, Product Previews, and Product Strategies, with management input and support. Identifies new business opportunities for product line expansion. Able to capture and communicate business need, market analysis, and product gap analysis including costs and benefits. Monitors trends and industry direction affecting their assigned products.
Creates marketing plans and market objectives for assigned products. Establishes methods to monitor and plans to attain stated objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicates effectively with customers and colleagues alike, whether from the business or technical team. Able to capture information in a clear and concise manner appropriate for the given audience. Readily recognizes critical issues and raises issues to appropriate level.
Proactively interfaces with external customers and other staff. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with peers across the company and within the industry. Shares business and procedural knowledge across business units. Effective mentoring, delegation and follow-through.
4 year degree preferably in Business or Computer Science related field.
Minimum qualifications include 6+ years experience in Airline Revenue Accounting, Pricing, Inventory Management or Revenue Management.

Duration: 12 months + or full time.
