Tim is an airline start-up specialist and proven problem-solver with over 25 years' experience of the airline industry, across geographies and jurisdictions.
He has a strong track record as a management coach and team builder, with responsibility for hiring, promoting, compensation strategy, training, budgeting, discipline, scheduling, termination, and performance management as well as deep systems knowledge and significant process re-engineering experience.
Tim’s expertise includes full business and commercial planning for investors, leasing companies and CAAs, a focus on growing revenue (direct and ancillary), identifying new commercial opportunities and lowering costs, contract pricing and negotiation, drafting and agreement with regard to legal requirements, payment solutions including credit cards, mPay, direct payment, UATP, cash, and direct billing, negotiation of air service agreements, route licences, designations, interline and code shares and interfaces with financial and operational systems.
Recently Tim worked as the Head of Commercial Turnaround for TACV, the national airline of Cape Verde (Cabo Verde); losses were quantified and categorised, and a turnaround plan put in place.
He was also the Head of Project Operations for fastjet, which launched a new African low cost carrier. He was responsible for the airline's project planning up to first flight, and running project operations across the company.
