Gerard is an interim C-level manager experienced in leading global teams of 400+ staff and delivering up to $1 billion in revenue; he has expertise in commercial turnaround, strategy development and execution and stakeholder management; prior experience in aviation, travel and technology sectors gained in Europe, US, Africa and Asia.

His expertise includes, but is not limited to Strategy development, Stakeholder Management, Business Transformation, Change Management, Revenue Management and Product Launch.

 

Gerard has experience of defining and implementing corporate and business strategy. He produced Kenya Airways’ five-year and three-year network and fleet plans along with passenger revenue budgets, secured board approval and cascaded agreed objectives to 450 commercial staff for monitoring continuously in quarterly business reviews.

 

His experience of spearheading product development and product launch includes directing a technology joint venture for US-based Broadvision ensuring alignment with business partner Amadeus to facilitate development of an Internet travel agency portal. Gerard also devised and brought to market an award-winning premium “Club Class” service for Hong Kong Airlines that achieved 10% market share.

 

Other achievements include Gerard establishing Nigeria’s Arik Air in three international markets important to travellers from Nigeria’s government, SME and diaspora sectors by opening new routes from Nigerian cities to London, Johannesburg and New York; and Gerard achieved 8% cost savings at Kenya Airways by closing unproductive sales offices, rationalizing roles, terminating staff, renegotiating terms with service providers and fast-tracking a program of sales office co-location with JV partner KLM.

 

Gerard has a Master of Science, Transport Planning & Management (Airline Economics & Tourism) and speaks fluent Spanish and French.
